Letting go and letting God has been such a struggle for me in my walk of faith. I’ve always been a “in control” kind of person the type who thinks, “If it’s going to get done right, I probably need to do it myself.” I believe in God. I truly do trust that everything is in His control. But even with that belief, I still find myself asking… why is it so hard to fully give it all to Him?

I’ll be honest with you, for the longest time, I felt like reading the Bible was this huge, intimidating task. I’d open it, read a few verses, get distracted by the dishes in the sink, or my toddler, and then close it, feeling guilty that I wasn’t “doing it right.” Maybe you’ve felt that way too.

I’ve always believed that reading can be one of the most powerful ways to grow in faith. As women, we juggle so many roles; mom, wife, friend, professional and sometimes it’s easy to forget to take a moment for ourselves and for our spiritual growth. One of my favorite ways to do this is through books that challenge, encourage, and remind me of God’s presence in every part of life.
